Power-Save offers a solution to these problems using patented technology for controlling all Compact Fluorescent Lights (non-dimmable and dimmable) and Fluorescent Linear Tubes (T12, T8, T5, circular) with non-dimmable ballasts. The device has also proven suitable for controlling neon, cold cathode, halogen, and incandescent lights. Because of it unique ability to control such various sources, it is also currently under test for other control functions such as improved fan speed control.
This Universal Control Device (UCD) represents a true breakthrough in technology. Installation is made simple since it is a direct replacement of the existing wall switch. Also initial adjustment for size of the light load and dimming can be preset to the customers preference.
The first model has been designed UCD-01 for a single phase 120V / 60Hz, 300W load. The unit meets safety standards for Solid-State Dimming Controls, ANSI/UL 1472 First Edition, and CSA-C22.2 No. 184-96 and started pre-production in April 2008.
Designs for higher power models (277V / 60Hz, 3 phase - 1200W load) are in progress with an anticipated release to market date of September 2008.
Additional features of future models will be improved controls including light harvesting remote control, motion and/or infrared sensors, and touch screen displays.
